Here are different reasons you can dispute a bill. You can dispute a bill if you received care and did not have or did not use your health insurance to pay for it. You can also dispute it if, before receiving care, you told the provider you would not be using insurance. Another situation is if you received a good faith estimate. You may qualify if you have an initial bill dated within the last 120 days, or if a provider or facility charges at least $400 more than the good faith estimate. These are all situations where you have the right to dispute your bill.
