I have to tell you this story. You have a traumatic brain injury and you wind up being in a coma for two months. Your commercial insurer informs your family that you will. They will definitely cover you, but after you leave the facility, you get a bill for over $300,000, which the provider claims is your copay responsibility, even though you have a maximum out-of-pocket of $5,000 for the year. The sad part is you never got it in writing from the provider, and we needed to appeal it with the state. Luckily, that claim was paid in its entirety. If you ever need help, please call me. Thank you.
