If a procedure is an emergency, there’s been laws in States and all began when New York states started the surprise Bill law April 1st 2015, April Fool’s Day.
One of my clients had excellent coverage and need emergency surgery. She even had multiple types of coverage. She did not just one policy. So the insurers paid the doctor’s bill, but the two surgeons they paid the hospital bill. They paid everything. And the surgeons were already paid but they were asking for an additional 65,000 each. 65,000 more each which total for their company another hundred and thirty thousand dollars. So after threatening the providers as to where I was going to report this case to, they finally wrote off that bill for $130,000.
